What I Wore: Bluegrass Races

My hometown is legend for our spectacular horse racing track. Keeneland is a landmark and social gathering mecca. Everyone who's anyone attends the spring and fall meets. Races go on all day and people dress from their finest dress to their favorite jeans. My friends and I usually go more casual because we go in the later hours of the day. We wear skirts and dresses but make it appropriate to go straight out to the night's dinner date or party.

After we left Keeneland, we went for ice cream and then to a party. It was a great time and my outfit was easy to run around in for my playful Friday :) Summer is all about comfort!

(Clockwise)
1. Versace VE4174 Oversize Square Sunglasses, Spring 2010  There are a few investment pieces I will allow myself to splurge on. Sunglasses are always one of them! From these I have definitely gotten my money's worth.
2. Mossimo Draped Challis Dress, $25
3. Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Parfum, $90   I have never gotten more compliments than when I wear this perfume! I apply it when I get out of the shower onto my neck, wrists, and and once in the air which I walk through. I alwayssssss wear this when I'm going to be around a lot of people. It is enticing and inviting!
4. Frye Bruce Pull On, $268  These are ADORABLE, but not the actual ones I wore! Mine are my dad's olddd ones with no name brand or serial number! The insides are falling apart but I rock them every year to music festivals! I'll throw in a pic down yonder...
5. Betsey Johnson Lotsa Luck Frame bag, $392  Are you in love with this bag or what?!
6. American Eagle Square Basic Leather Belt, $25  This belt will take you a long way! Throw it on with jean shorts, push it to the side with ripped jeans, or cinch your waist by wrapping it! To get the wrap, push the belt hook middle piece to one side of the buckle and pull the belt through, wrap it around twice and let the end hand down.

Those are the boots I was talking about. Oh, and those cool reflection glasses are my friends which she got at target last summer! One of my favorite things about summer is taking items from previous seasons or past lives and utilizing them in multiple looks. Always remember: staples like classy glasses, vintage brown boots, and a signature scent will carry you further than investing in the latest trends. *Bisous*

All You Need: Rest & Relaxtion

After weeks of cramming for finals, finishing projects, coordinating events, planning travels, and entertaining guests I felt like I was going literally going to break into pieces. All the pressure was beginning to take a toll on my mental and even physical health. My shoulders had knots everywhere, tension headaches wrecked havoc on my social life, and my legs hurt so bad I started taking the elevator to my econ class on the, ahen, second floor. Then one night, I just couldn't take anymore. 3 o'clock in the morning the day of my Art History 8 a.m. final  and I find myself desperately raiding the bathroom cabinets for toilet paper when it catches my eye. Like an oasis in the desert, there sat my Lush Sex Bomb. I drew a bath and plopped the little ball in. Within moments my entire bathroom filled with a beautifully delicate, warm, romantic scent that had my worries instantly melting away. The pink water, scorching hot, soothed my aches while my skin seriously tingled. I relaxed. And my beauty life has never been the same! Honestly, I've always been a sucker for calming aromatherapy scents (I don't go anywhere without my Johnson&Johnson's Melt Away) and this bath bomb takes the cake as my all time favorite. If you need some serious R&R, try other aromatherapy based "me-time" products! Look for herbals such as Jasmine, Ylang Ylang, Lavender, and Eucalyptus. I've given some of my favorite products to help you shopinistas out! I hope this article brings you peace, love, & happiness!*

The first thing that attracted me to this when I was browsing Lush was the name. I know, typical ;-) I loved it so much the first time I picked up another one the next day at work and just did it two nights ago to make sure I still liked it enough to brag on. Here's what it does~

There were even rose petals left behind.... better than most men! #swearbyit !!! I got out of that tub feeling soooo readyyy to snuggle up and drift off to a fabulous nights rest!

Here are some other products I'm fascinated with for working out my kinks!

(Clockwise)
1. Lush Sex Bomb, $6.45
2. L'Occtaine Jasmine Eau de Parfum, $66.00   Smelled this only once in store but can't wait to go buy!
3. Smith's Rosebud Salve, $5   Been using since high school. Keeps lips soft as can be!
4. Johnson & Johnson's Melt Away Stress Collection, $5-13   Like I mentioned, I carry the travel size with me everywhere!
5. Oscar Blandi Jasmine Oil Serum, $16   I saw this at Sephora last week and I'm desperate to try! Does anyone know if it's good?!
4. ScentBug Oil Warmer, $13  Mine is hot pink! My sister and I have matching lol. The black is timeless. You have to get little oil pad things to accompany and they run $4 for I use this EVERY DAY when I do my homework and when I'm blogging! It's a simple, cost efficient way to relax at any time.
5. Aura Cacia Lavender Essential Oil, $5   I found these at a local vitamin shoppe.  Work really well with the scentbug!
6. Aura Cacia Ylang Ylang Essential Oil, $5
7. Aveda Rosemary Mint Shampoo, $30    My good friend Andrea brought this on spring break and I couldn't resist trying it.  My dad has always been an Aveda men's line fan and he's pushed the products on me for a while. However, this is the first product I have found myself recommending to friends. I use it only when I'm looking to get a really oil free clean because it tends to dry out locks. Smell is intoxicating!
8. Juicy Couture Mood Ring, $45   Ok so this wont actually de-stress your soul but it is SUPER adorable!!

Enjoy your summer ladies! Don't forget to stop and smell the roses<3 *Bisous*

What I Wore: Desert Rose

Last weekend, before summer could officially begin, my beloved boyfriend had to walk across the stage and graduate college! I honestly can't believe how fast time has gone by!! In a few weeks he's moving and I don't know what I'll do without him. Example: A few days before the ceremony I was struggling to put together a dressy yet informal outfit when said beloved man swooped in and saved the day! He pulled this dress from the abyss!!! I swear I didn't even know I had it! I despise the belt that comes on it originally so I had to find a new one. The belt I chose has a midwestern feel to it so I paired an old school bag and brown wedges with it to tie together a desert rose aura. The only jewelry I dawned were brass studs. For makeup, I was in a SERIOUS hurry so I only had time to throw on powder, liner, blush, and gloss! My hair I simply added shine gloss and threw it into a low bun to air dry on my way to the ceremony. Overall, this look is romantic, dressed-up cazh, and weather appropriate.

1. Dress, Forever21, $18
2. Belt, Arden B, $24
3. Shoes, Xhilaration Teala Strappy Wedge, $25
4. Bag, Betsey Johnson Lotsa Luck Frame, $392
5. Blush, MAC Powder Blush Fleur Power, $20
6. Lipgloss, NARS Lipgloss Chihuahua, $24

Even though I adore the look, what makes it even more special is that my man picked it out! Ladies, this is a great style for date night!!! Boys love feminine colors, soft textures, and anything waist cinching! Also, he commented on the one shoulder neckline saying it reveals enough while sustaining mystery.  Now if only we could take our little mystery to a desert ranch with champagne and roses..........<3  *Bisous*

Winged Goddess

Hola chicas! It's that time of the year again!!! Sunshine, bikinis, and barbecues! This summer don't waste your time caking on layers of make-up that will just sweat off and prevent you from getting a tan. Instead, spend your time pool side or at a concert with your friends! This easy tutorial will show you everything you need for a simple, classic, no hassle cat-eye routine that is good for every day wear! I'll give you celebrity inspirations and tips for taking the look day-to-night!

Prep:
The key for glowing skin is exfoliation, moisturizer, and protection. Starting with a scrub ensures you the smoothest surface as well as gaining the deepest tan. But in order to stay away from the harmful effects of tanning, it's also important to nourish delicate eye skin that can be easily depleted of moisture, and to protect your face from harmful UVB rays which are much more prevalent in the summer months. No one wants to be a lobster face covered in wrinkles! Make sure to grab a lotion with SPF 15+ to protect yourself. My favorite trick of summer utilizes eye drops as blemish concealer! I know you think I'm crazy but the drops actually contain a blood vessel restricting element which aids in relieving the red from pimples! I use this trick a lot in the summer because I hate feeling over loaded in make up, and this leaves my skin light and touchable!
1. C. Booth Green Apple Micro Dermabrasion Scrub, $10
2. Clinique All About Eyes Rich, $35
3. Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15, $10
4. Clear Eyes Redness Relief, $3

Style:
Day-
During the day when the temps are at their highest, there is no point in putting on heavy foundation just to watch it drip off (gross!!). Instead opt for a pressed powder and a light dusting of blush! The powder will absorb oils and the blush adds a pop of color without being heavy. For eyes, line top lash line with a waterproof liner extending edges slightly past the outer corners. Line lips with a clear wax liner (to prevent feathering), swipe on a light pink gloss, and presto! Casually chic :)
Night-
To UP the glam, add just a few more products onto the look! Go ahead and use a light concealer and foundation and reset with pressed powder. Add a dusting of bronzer for contour, and reapply blush. To intensify the cat-eye, use a matte black shadow to gently trace over the liner. You can use a pencil brush or even dab it on with a q-tip. Highlight your brow bone and inner corners for a glowy effect. Curl lashes and apply 2 coats of a lash separating mascara. On lips, use a pigmented pink lipstick over the clear liner, and finish with a swipe of gloss. Perfectly pretty without trying too hard which is exactly the aura of summertime!
1. Hard Candy Nobody's Perfect Concealer Palette, $8
2. Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation, $7
3. Clinique Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder, $20
4. MAC Bronzing Powder, Matte Bronze, $23
5. MAC Marine Life Highlight Compact, limited collection
6. Maybelline Ultra Liner Waterproof Liquid Liner, $7
7. Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow, Charcoal, $20
8. Almay Bright Eyes Duo, $8
10. Diorshow Iconic High Definition Lash Curler Mascara, Black, $28
11. Two Faced Borderline Smoothing Anti Feathering Lip Pencil, Clear, $15
12. MAC Pro longwear Lipcream, Overtime, $16
13. NARS Lip Gloss, Chihuahua, $24

Make this pretty look work every day, with every outfit, by varying the drama of the wing! Feeling vintage, kick it up a notch like Ke$ha and Katy Perry. For the office stay sophisticated like Beyonce. Channel dollfaced Leighton and go rosy on the cheeks, perfect for date night! Or get smoky like Mila by adding liner to the bottom lashline. The possibilities are endless! This look is fast, easy to master, and requires little product making it the ideal daily routine! Do you have any products that would compliment this routine? Please share your thoughts with us! For a guide to getting the winged liner down pat, keep your eye out for the Winged Goddess YouTube video coming soon!

January Highs&Lows ;

Hey y'all! This month we've become desperately obsessed with three luxe pieces: Khloe K's Phillip Lim 3.0 poncho, Frye's Melissa Button boot, and Abercrombie and Fitch's Kaela cardi. Although these items are fabulous, they aren't very budget friendly so LGG gathered our most loved dupes! Keeping it neutral as we transition into pre-spring is going to allow us to bring these apparels back into play dans printemps- which we will have another post on shortly! This is a great time of year to stock up on winter items as most stuff is on sale, like a "You-Survived-the-Holidays" present to us all! On to the goods:
Khloe's poncho look can be recreated for under a hundred bucks!
1. Dolan Square Hoodie, $97, shopbop.com
2. Bebe Oversize Zipper Hoodie, $40, bebe.com
3. UO Neue Claes Hooded Sweatshirt, $40, urbanoutfitters.com
Leather riding boots are a staple for every woman's closet. Get the look without breaking the bank.
1. Type Z Sharris Brown boot, $160, zappos.com
2. Miz Mooz King boot, $120, nordstrom.com
Cozy cardi's are perfect for transitional seasons because they allow the option of layers! For the perfect beige I always aim to find a "bone" color, which makes it easy to throw on with anything- black skinnys, a teal tank, a floral purple skirt- beige goes with it all!
1. Forever 21 cardigan, $25, forever21.com
2. UO BDG Fisherman Cardigan, $68, urbanoutfitters.com

Whether your heading back to class or going to see a movie with the beau these looks just work! They are classic everyday go-to staples that are worth the investment- especially when you find the price that's right for you! Always here to help,

Hooking Up With Lagerfeld

This was easy to see coming, as she has become the "it girl" of the moment and muse for designers everywhere. Blake Lively, star of Gossip Girl, has just officially been named the new face of Karl Lagerfeld's handbag line for Chanel. The campaign was even shot by Lagerfeld himself at the Chanel headquarters in Paris. The two have been raving about each other and thier love and taste in fashion for months, it was only natural that Lively became the new face of the brand. She has expressed her excitement to E! News, WWD and several others saying "A dream come true is an understatement." You will be able to see the much anticipated ad when magazines hit stands this April. In the mean time, Im sure we will see Lively trotting around town and down red carpets in, none other than, Chanel.
